Barrington Stables, Where a horse can be a horse...
We specialize in natural "no non-sense" techniques for the care and training of our horses. Unlike some other facilities, the horses at Barrington Stables aren't cooped up all the time in stalls or fed and thrown out to pasture. They are faced with learning experiences every day. Our horses learn respectful behavior, whether it be feeding time, ground manners when being lead, or any time they have the opportunity to interact with people . We believe that any time you spend time with your horse it is a learning and teaching opportunity. It is up to the horse owner to learn and work on the relationship with their horse to build trust and respect. Barrington Stables offers lessons for riders of all ages and levels. From beginners, children and adults, to advanced riders who want to learn more specific skills or try something new. We also offer relationship evaluations and consultation for horse and rider. This training is uncomplicated and realistic, using the horse's language or behavior to communicate, gain trust, respect and strengthen the relationship in your unique "herd". Barrington Stables emphasizes natural care throughout our horse management program. Substantial turnout, environment, diet, and exercise are essential for proper digestion, mental and physical health. Regular natural hoof care is another major part of our horse care program. Our Equine Podiatrist, Brenda Guillory (DAEP) is very knowledgeable about bare hoof care and very skilled in her work. We all know that a horse is nothing without its feet. So, whether your horse is young or old, used for pleasure or sport, they will greatly benefit from this increasingly popular and healthy practice. Let your horse be a horse, gain his respect and let his individual body function the way God intended and he will be happier and healthier for it.
